Theme: From Concept to Applications – Advances in Fisheries Science
March 21-23, Frost Centre, Dorset, Ontario
The 2003 Southern Ontario Chapter Annual General Meeting & Conference was held March 21st to 23rd, at the Leslie M. Frost Centre in Dorset, Ontario. There were a variety of presentations from fisheries professionals and students.
The technical sessions were well attended and of great interest and we extend a heartfelt thank you to our speakers.

Deborah Martin-Downs (Gartner Lee Limited) – “Environmental Effects from Water Takings”
Brian Hindley (Aquafor Beech Limited) – “Fish Community Based Targets for Use in Watershed Restoration and Monitoring Plans”
Peter Foote (Louis Berger & Associates) – “Assessment of the Effects of the Proposed Removal of Three Dams on the Presumpscot River, Maine”
Chris Wilson (Trent University) – “Applying Genetic Markers to Fisheries Management and Program Direction”
Feedback at the business meeting indicated that some members would like to try an alternative date for the AGM next year, perhaps a move to February from the traditional third week in March. The Executive Committee is considering this
During our Saturday night social we were entertained by the FishHeads (Wil and Steve) who once again provided a brilliant musical performance for us.
